Sem-IP.com semantic
If a user wants to search for similar patents (in terms of essence of the invention), then „Semantic Search“ has to be selected as option in the mein window.
The user can then enter an arbitrary text e.g. claim of a patent, or the fulltext of a patent, or even a product description.
Based on this input text, the semantic engine identifies patents in the database, which are similar in terms of inventional essence to the input text. It does not depend of the specific wording in the texts, whether a patent will be defined as a hit; the semantical context is deciding. This way, even patents which might be using unexpected synonyms, can be retrieved.
The program calculates a measure of similarity for the output results (number between 0 and 1), and the result is displayed, ranked by decreasing similarity.
